The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a fairly unique vehicle on the market since it a coupe-like version of the Atlas. This is a popular category of vehicles in the premium segment, but the Atlas Cross Sport is the only such model in the mainstream category.
More practical than it looks
The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a shortened version of the Atlas that had its roof lowered and angled towards the rear in the name of style. Of course, this means that the Atlas Cross Sport is less practical than the regular version, but it is still more than capable of comfortably hauling passengers and their luggage. Indeed, the Atlas Cross Sport benefits from up to 1,141 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats and 2,203 litres behind the front seat. When compared to other coupe-like SUVs that cost tens of thousands more, the Atlas Cross Sport also offers more legroom and shoulder room front and rear, which contributes to its comfort on long highway drives.
A distinctive style
Since the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas is the only coupe-like SUV in its price bracket, its style makes it easily recognizable out on the road and gives it a more upmarket appearance. The low roofline and the angled “D” pillar also make the Atlas Cross Sport look more dynamic than the regular version. Inside, the cabin is shared with the regular Atlas for the most part, which means high-quality materials are found throughout and the dashboard adopts a functional and elegant appearance. In the rear seat, the Atlas Cross Sport offers slightly less headroom than its seven-seater relative, but it benefits from more legroom.
A long list of tech features
The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a technologically advanced vehicle since it benefits from all of the latest convenience and safety technologies from VW. These include the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rain-sensing wipers, 8.0-inch Digital Cockpit instrument panel, and front heated seats. Also available are a heated steering wheel, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and the Travel Assist system, among many others.
