The Volkswagen ID. Buzz has captured one of the automotive industry's highest honours, winning the 2025 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year award. This achievement comes as Canadian dealerships prepare to welcome this highly anticipated electric van, which officially launched in the Canadian market late last year.

Buzz is a unique vehicle on the North American market, since it is the only electric people hauler on the market right now," said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America. "We are pleased that the experts on the jury appreciated its combination of style, space, and refinement, all packaged in a vehicle that has zero tailpipe emissions. And it does this while bringing a smile to the face of anyone who sees one on the street."
Advanced Electric Performance
The 2025 ID. Buzz demonstrates impressive capability with its 91 kWh battery pack. The rear-wheel drive model delivers 282 horsepower with an all-electric range of 377 kilometres, while the 4MOTION all-wheel drive variant produces 335 horsepower and achieves a range of 373 kilometres. These specifications prove the ID. Buzz is well-suited for Canadian climate and driving conditions.
Premium Features and Versatile Space
The ID. Buzz First Edition models are generously equipped with premium features. Standard equipment includes unique 20-inch Stockton aluminum-alloy wheels with white and silver accents, dual power-sliding rear doors with Easy Open and Close, and a power tailgate. The comprehensive technology package features a 12.9-inch infotainment display, 5.3-inch ID. Cockpit digital instrument cluster, and 30-colour ambient lighting.
The rear-wheel drive model offers seating for seven with a split-folding centre bench seat, while 4MOTION models feature luxurious captain's chairs in the second row. For added convenience, the ID. Buzz includes three-door KESSY keyless access with proximity unlocking and illuminated front door handles.
Distinctive Design and Customization Options
The ID. Buzz offers several sophisticated exterior colours, including Cabana Blue with Candy White, Blue Charcoal, Deep Black Pearl, and Metro Silver. The interior features three exclusive North American colour themes - each carefully curated to complement the exterior.
The Cognac theme delivers mid-century modern appeal with rich brown leatherette seats featuring yellow piping, brown door inserts, and a washed wood-look dash. The Dune option presents a bright, coastal-inspired interior with light grey leatherette seats, clay-coloured piping and door inserts, and a light wood-look dash. For a more dramatic aesthetic, the Moonlight theme combines dark brown leatherette seats with white piping, blue door inserts, and a dark wood-look dash paired with a black headliner.
An optional electrochromic panoramic smart glass roof, which transforms from transparent to opaque at the swipe of a finger, is available for an additional $2,000, further enhancing the open and airy interior atmosphere.
Advanced Safety and Technology
Every ID. Buzz comes standard with Volkswagen's IQ.DRIVE advanced driver assistance technology, featuring hands-on semi-automated capability including driver-initiated lane changes with Travel Assist activated. Additional standard safety features include Park Assist Plus with Memory Parking, Dynamic Road Sign Display, and Light Assist.
